3. Modeling A#

3.1. Characteristics of modeling#

We use a DKT model based on QUAD4 square elements. The calculation method is based on dynamic substructuring, using fixed interface modes, and interface modes. Before enrichment, each of the macro elements is constructed using

  • 1 dynamic mode with fixed interface

  • 6 interface modes

For enrichment, we add

  • 4 interface modes

  • 6 fixed interface modes

Details on the methods for calculating these enrichments are given in the U2 documentation.

3.2. Characteristics of the mesh#

The mesh of the first plate contains 15x15 elements of type QUAD4.

The mesh of the first plate contains 14x14 elements of type QUAD4.

3.3. Tested sizes and results#

The first 5 natural frequencies of the plate are tested, before and after enrichment of the generalized model.
