v2.02.001 SDLL01 - Short beam on simple supports#
Summary:
This two-dimensional problem consists in looking for the vibration frequencies of a mechanical structure composed of a beam with simple supports at both ends. This Structural Mechanics test case corresponds to a dynamic analysis of a linear model with linear behavior. We study the influence of the position of the points considered as support points (points on the neutral fiber or eccentric points at the base of the beam) in relation to the neutral fiber of a thick beam.
This test makes it possible to test some of the functionalities concerning Timoshenko beams, rigid connections and the search for natural frequencies by reverse iterations.
The results obtained with the support points on the neutral fiber, i.e. with the eccentric support points, are compared with the analytical calculations on the beams of TImoshenko. The results obtained with the eccentric support points are compared with non-regression results.
When the support points are eccentric, a coupling is observed between the various traction-compression and flexure modes.
