v2.01.325 SDLD325 - Transient dynamic response of a damped mass-spring system with 2 degrees of freedom#
Summary:
This problem consists in analyzing the dynamic response of a system composed of a set of spring-damper weights with 2 degrees of freedom whose spring stiffness is very different under crenge-type excitation in 1 degree of freedom.
Through this problem, we test the sensitivity of integration schemes on physical space or modal space with respect to the rigidity ratio.
The displacement and speed results are compared to an average of results from industrial codes and an improved Newmark numerical integration method.
