1. Description#

1.1. Geometry, mesh, and model#

The study model is a portion of a half-cylinder with a height \(H=2m\), radius \(R=10m\) and a thickness of \(\mathit{ep}=1m\). This half-cylinder is extended at its end located in \(x>0\) by a rectilinear part of the same height and \(3m\) long. A cable crosses the concrete following its geometry at a distance \(\mathit{ex}=\mathrm{0,4}m\) from the middle sheet on the outside.

The concrete is modelled as a shell (Q4GG element). It consists of 275 QUAD4 meshes, 5 stitches in its height and 55 in its length (including 50 on the cylindrical part and 5 on the rectilinear part).

The cable is modelled in BARRE elements, it consists of 55 SEG2 meshes.

Figure 1: Meshing

For D, E, and F models, DIS_T elements based on SEG2 meshes at the nodes combined (the first node being a cable node) are added to the mesh (using the CREA_SEG2 feature of CREA_MAILLAGE) and to the model.

1.2. Material properties#

The properties of concrete for the cylinder and of steel for the cable are given in the following table:
