4. C modeling#

In C modeling, we study the 3D structure first with the definition of the lower and upper lips of the crack and then by defining only the group of nodes at the bottom.

4.1. Characteristics of the mesh#

The mesh is shown in the following figure:

It is composed of 1184 nodes for 1539 PENTA6 solid elements. The crack bottom is composed of 4 nodes located along the \(z\) axis in \(x\mathrm{=}0.5\) and \(y\mathrm{=}0.5\).

4.2. Tested sizes and results#

The vectors in the base are the same for the 4 nodes in the background.
