Give information on the quality of a mesh.

This macro-command makes it possible to obtain information on a mesh, of degree 1 or 2, containing mesh-points, segments, triangles, quadrangles, tetrahedra, hexahedra or pentahedra. The print is directed to the message file.

First, we find an overall balance of the mesh: dimension, degree, number of nodes, number of meshes, extreme dimensions.

Then six pieces of information are available:

  • a summary of the quality of the stitches,

  • a summary of the mesh diameter,

  • a check of the non-interpenetration of the meshes,

  • an assessment of the connectivity of the mesh

  • a summary of the size of the various sub-domains

  • the number of overstressed elements

This analysis is done by the mesh adaptation software HOMARD. For more details, see: https://www.code-aster.org/outils/homard or refer to the documents cited in the bibliography.
