5. Scope of use#

5.1. Case OPTION = “LONGUEUR”#

The evol_noli entered under the keyword RESULTAT must be the result of a 2D nonlinear calculation with cohesive elements. In addition, the crack must be rectilinear.

The command emits an error or alarm message if the user goes out of the scope of use:

  • The user is required to clearly define the half-line starting from the point POINT_ORIG (aligned with the PGs) and the direction vector VECT_TANG (collinear to the right of the PGs). We check these conditions but also that there are indeed PGs on the half-line in question (meaning of the well-chosen vector).

  • If one of these three conditions is not met, an error message is displayed indicating the problem encountered as well as the extreme coordinates of the PGs to help the user define the half-line correctly.

  • As defined, the lengths are only valid if the cohesive zone is connected. If this is not the case an alarm message is displayed.

  • If we notice that the cohesive zone is composed of only three PGs or less, an alarm message is displayed stating that the mesh does not seem sufficiently fine to correctly capture this zone (see doc U2.05.07 advice on using cohesive models).

5.2. Case OPTION = “TRIAXIALITE”#

This post-processing is available in 2D and 3D. The models supported in the massif and on the cohesive interface are summarized in the table below.
