The increasing complexity of mechanical structures makes it difficult to estimate its dynamic behavior under imposed stress. Numerical modeling of the complete structure would require a significant investment both in terms of memory space and calculation costs.

In addition to reducing the size of the model, the dynamic substructuring technique makes the modeling of the overall structure much more modular.
