2. Pinball impact validation test case (pinp)#

This validation test concerns the validation of the various steps during a classical study via module EUROPLEXUS. Two files are used for this validation test:

pinp.epx

pinp.msh

2.1. Loading the study into module EUROPLEXUS#

The Module EUROPLEXUS command file can be imported by going to the « File » menu and clicking on « Open EPX File » (cf.) and selecting the epx file of the study.

When selecting the pinp.epx study file in the resources/examples/med-meshes/impact-dale directory, the module automatically searches for the mesh file of the same name in the directory containing the command file.

2.2. Viewing the command file EUROPLEXUS#

To view the order file, click on « CONTINUE » at the bottom right of the main window of the Europlexus module.

When right-clicking in the command file editor, the figure menu appears.

Selecting « Mesh verification » in this menu gives access to a menu:

  • Full summary

  • Edge size

  • Aspect ratio

By selecting « Full summary », general information about the mesh appears in the window under the « Mesh view » window as the number of elements appears (cf. figure)

Similarly, by selecting « Edge size », a menu proposes a percentage to select in order to display the n% smallest elements

Figure 2.2-3: Module EUROPLEXUS: Selecting the display of the smallest items

By selecting 10%, the « Mesh view » window displays the 10% smallest elements (see Figure).

Figure 2.2-4: Module EUROPLEXUS: Showing the 10% smallest items By selecting « Aspect ratio », a menu offers minimum values to filter the elements. Thus, if we select a minimum « Aspect ratio » of 1, the information concerning the elements with a larger ratio appears in the window under the « Mesh View » window.
