1. Generalities

This document is an overview of the Cronos cluster.

Cronos is a computing server accessible only on the internal EDF network and managed jointly by DIPNN, R&D and FRAMATOME.

The document introduces the machine, and gives the basic instructions that every Cronos user must have learned to be able to use the machine:

• how to get an account and log in to the machine

• where is user data and backup policy stored

• how to configure your account for passwordless access (required by AsterStudy/ASTK)

Next, we explain how to use code_aster on this server:

• how to add the server in its local version of salome_meca and astk

• how to use batch manager commands (submit, query, etc.)
