r7.02.04 Beremin model#

Summary

First of all, we recall the foundations of local approach models of rupture that make it possible to model fragile rupture.

We describe how, with the Beremin model, the probability of failure of a structure is calculated based on the knowledge of the mechanical fields affecting it. By considering the general case of a non-monotonic thermomechanical loading path and by assuming that some parameters of the models do not depend on temperature, we establish the general expression of the cumulative failure probabilities. The Beremin model also makes it possible to include the consideration of a plastic deformation correction.

Finally, indications concerning the implementation of the Beremin model are summarized.
