1. Field of use#
The development of Timoshenko beam elements with warpage (modeling POU_D_TG) (modeling) in Code_Aster was carried out initially in order to calculate the behavior of pylons. The main aim was to design structures made of open thin profile beams (angles), for which warping is important. Nonlinear behaviors are for use with element POU_D_TGM (multi-fiber beam). These nonlinear behaviors only relate to traction and flexure. Shear due to shear force, as well as warping and bi-moment (force related to warping) remain linked by elastic behavior, as it is not possible to express non-linear behavior on these quantities. The description of twisting with warping is valid for the use of elements POU_D_TG and POU_D_TGM with linear operators (MECA_STATIQUE, DYNA_LINE_TRAN,…) or non-linear operators (STAT_NON_LINE, DYNA_NON_LINE,…).
