.. _V8.01.100: **v8.01.100** FDLV100 - Piston coupled to an incompressible fluid column ============================================================================= **Summary:** This test in the field of fluids (fluid-structure coupling) validates the calculation of added mass on a modal basis and performs, as part of a modal analysis, the calculation of the natural frequency of a piston-spring system coupled to a column of incompressible fluid. To model the fluid, plane thermal elements are used; to model the piston, 2D mechanical elements in plane deformation and a discrete element are used to model a spring. Finally, the fluid/structure interface is modelled by thermal linear elements modified to introduce an "acceleration" type boundary condition into the fluid. The test case includes only one model, two-dimensional. The natural frequency of the coupled system is found to be 0.01% of the analytical result. .. toctree:: :hidden: self .. toctree:: :maxdepth: 2 :numbered: Probl_me_de_r_f_rence Solution_de_r_f_rence Mod_lisation_A R_sultats_de_la_mod_lisation_A
