v7.14.103 EPICU03 - Validation of the POST_K_BETA command in the case of a semi-elliptical defect.#
Summary:
The command POST_K_BETA calculates the elastic stress intensity factor and the elasto-plastic stress intensity factor (also called « plastically corrected ») at the two points of the semi-elliptical defect under coating, using respectively the stripping of the stresses at the nodes resulting from mechanical resolution via the mechanical resolution via the influence coefficient method via the influence coefficients method and the so-called « correction-b » method, both described in RSE -M.
This test validates the determination of the stress intensity factors of a semi-elliptical defect under coating of longitudinal orientation at first and circumferential orientation in a second time at the point of the defect located on the base metal side.
Since the thermo-mechanical transient in question is assumed to be spatially uniform at all times and the thermal and mechanical properties of both the coating and the base metal are also spatially invariant, the absence of an effective defect in the mesh of the core zone of the tank, which is inherent in the present simplified method for analyzing the harmfulness of a defect, then makes it possible to carry out this test based on axisymmetric modeling of the core zone of the tank.
