5. Summary of results#

The data of the problem correspond to a thin shell \(\frac{h}{L}\mathrm{=}0.625\text{\%}\), which is severe for the finite element triangle MEC3TR7H (not presented here because it presents a case of blocking due to transverse shear). The deformation is essentially membranous and the rotations remain moderate.

The reference solution obtained by the SAMCEF software is digital and its mesh is twice as fine as that used here. His finite element model is based on a results-effort approach with a rotational formulation [bib3]. The approach chosen in*Code_Aster* is 3D plane constraints with a total Lagrangian formulation [R3.07.04]. The quality of the results obtained is good. The difference with respect to this solution is less than 0.5% for the vertical displacement of the central point.
