Calculation method
-----------------

The reference solution comes from results obtained with the Abaqus and MARC codes in a NAFEMS touch-friction validation benchmark [:ref:`bib1 <bib1>`].


Reference quantities and results
------------------------

Horizontal movement of point :math:`A` (according to :math:`x`) (external reference).

Contact pressure at point :math:`A` (external reference). The contact pressure recorded is that extrapolated from the stresses in the volume.


Uncertainties about the solution
----------------------------

Important (code average).

Note that the mesh used is different from that of the *benchmark*. The reason is given at the conclusion of the document.
