**v6.03.154** SSNP154 — NAFEMS contact validation benchmark 1: cylinder roller contact

**Summary:**

This problem is the first test case of a benchmark NAFEMS for validating touch-friction. The benchmark references are obtained with the Abaqus and MARC codes.

This test models a Hertz contact with and without friction between a solid and a cylinder of different stiffness meshed with different fineness.

An analytical solution exists for the frictionless case.

This test includes 6 models to test:


* linear and quadratic elements,


* the 'CONTINUE' contact treatment formulations without and with friction.


* 'DISCRETE' frictionless contact treatment formulations
