Summary:

The use of softening laws can lead to brutal snap-backs that make it difficult to perform the calculation. To monitor these instabilities, two types of control are available in Code_Aster: control by elastic prediction (PRED_ELAS), which depends on the law of behavior, and generic deformation control (DEFORMATION). In the case of models with non-damaging elasto-plastic behavior, it is possible to use elastic prediction control. This adds the possibility of controlling materials with a work-hardening plate (perfectly plastic behavior) but also makes it possible to mix plastic materials (for example reinforcements in concrete) with damaging materials.
