.. _V6.02.135: **v6.02.135** SSNL135 — Determination of the ruin loads of the MEKELEC console ================================================================================ **Summary** In this test, we seek to validate the multi-fiber Timoshenko beam element, available in *Code_Astervia* modeling POU_D_TGM, in the non-linear geometric and material domain. To illustrate the possibilities offered by this element, it is proposed to numerically determine the ruin loads of the pylon console known as MEKELEC and to compare them with test results. Console MEKELEC is subjected to different load cases and for each case, the predicted failure load and failure mode are compared to those observed during the tests. The results show a very good prediction of failure modes with, however, a disparity in loads that is explained more by the simplified modeling adopted for the console than by shortcomings in the finite element used.
