Calculation method

The reference solution comes from results obtained with the Abaqus and MARC codes in a NAFEMS touch-friction validation benchmark [:ref:`bib1 <bib1>`].


Reference quantities and results

Vertical movement of point :math:`M` (according to :math:`y`) (external reference).

Contact pressure at point :math:`M` (external reference). The contact pressure recorded is that extrapolated from the stresses in the volume.
