4. Summary of results#
It is observed that the results are very close to the analytical solution, both for the Euler diagram and for the schema of centered differences. The times of change in stiffness obtained by these two diagrams are identical.
The energy balances have an error of less than \(\mathrm{0,1}J\) in both cases. This value should be put into perspective given the very small time step that tends to reduce the differences, but such a short time step is necessary to deal with this steep problem.
Finally, there is a perfect match (with numerical precision) between contact forces and kinematics, which means that contact treatment by penalization is correctly carried out.
