7. Summary of results#
This test is recommended by NAFEMS (but with a different type of mesh).
The two models carried out give the following results:
modeling A (PLAN with TRIA3 meshes), the maximum difference (3.48%) is greater than the tolerance set initially (2%),
B modeling (3D with PENTA15 meshes), the maximum difference (0.36%) is less than the tolerance set initially (2%).
The limit condition is given using the FORMULE command. This choice allows a good representation of the taking into account of the sinusoidal limit condition.
Quadratic modeling is more appropriate to simulate this test. A finer and balanced mesh for linear modeling would allow for better results.
The results of modeling A are therefore considered to be acceptable.
The main interest of this test is its origin: NAFEMS.
