8. F modeling#

8.1. Characteristics of modeling#

Method SIMPLEXE is used by PROPA_FISS.

8.2. Characteristics of the mesh#

The same mesh as that of modeling A. is used.

Lobster refinement is performed on the initial mesh to obtain pyramidal cells.

This makes it possible to test the method on different meshes and to observe that the result remains correct.

8.3. Tested sizes and results#

We extract the normal (\(\mathit{LSN}\)) and tangent (\(\mathit{LST}\)) level-set using the POST_RELEVE_T operator using the operator and we check that the maximum and minimum values remain within the radius of capture of the nodes tested around the crack front, i.e. 1/3:

\(\mathit{Propag.}i\)

\(\mathit{Max}{\mathit{LSN}}_{i}\)

\(\mathit{Min}{\mathit{LSN}}_{i}\)

\(\mathit{Max}{\mathit{LST}}_{i}\)

\(\mathit{Min}{\mathit{LST}}_{i}\)

The results obtained clearly show that the level-sets remain less than the radius in which the crack front was located. This means that the crack bottom has been correctly located by the geometric method.
