.. _V3.04.312: **v3.04.312** SSLV312 — Semi-elliptical crack perpendicular to the interface of a bi-material ============================================================================================== **Summary:** This test case studies the influence of a semi-elliptical crack perpendicular to the interface of two elastic materials. The first model represents a circular crack (modeling A) and the second an elliptical crack with a major axis to minor axis ratio equal to 2. The models are massive three-dimensional with uniform pressure loading on the crack lip. The objective of the study is the calculation of local :math:`G` along the crack bottom and the evaluation of the mean square deviation between the geometric correction factor :math:`{F}_{I}` along the crack bottom and a reference value from an article. :math:`{F}_{I}` is calculated from the local :math:`G` using the Irwin formula in plane deformations. Since the cracks are located in an infinite medium, the limits of the finite element model were chosen according to the feedback acquired during the pre-validation of the cracked block. .. toctree:: :hidden: self .. toctree:: :maxdepth: 2 :numbered: Probl_me_de_r_f_rence Solution_de_r_f_rence Mod_lisation_A Mod_lisation_B Synth_se_des_r_sultats Remarques
