v3.03.125 SSLS125 - Buckling of a free cylinder under external pressure#
Summary:
This test represents a calculation of the stability of a thin cylindrical envelope that is free at its ends subjected to external pressure. The critical loads leading to the elastic Euler buckling are calculated. The geometric rigidity matrix used in solving the eigenvalue problem is the one that is due to the initial constraints.
It allows the validation of finite element modeling COQUE_SOLIDE.
The critical load and the eigenmode obtained are compared to an analytical reference solution.
