12. Summary of results

This test is very severe due to the geometry of the shell, which is left.

The elements COQUE_3D and COQUE_SOLIDE give very good results (less than 0.5%) with few nodes (modeling A, B and C).

With regard to plate models (DKT, DST, Q4G), it is observed that the type of mesh used has a strong influence on the results:

• TRIA3 meshes give good results (around 10% error), a finer mesh improves them more significantly;

• mesh QUAD4donnent, on the other hand, results that are very far from the reference solution. The formulation of the plate elements in fact makes the hypothesis of plane facets; this hypothesis is no longer verified on this test in the presence of large displacements.
