Summary:

The three-dimensional problem consists primo, in looking for the vibration modes of a mechanical structure composed of an embedded curved beam (Hovgaard problem), secundo, in analyzing the response of this structure subjected to an acceleration spectrum. This structural mechanics test corresponds to a dynamic analysis of a linear model (assembled structure) with linear behavior. It includes three models.

By means of this problem, we test the Timoshenko beam element (straight beam) in bending, the calculation of natural modes by the Lanczos method, the calculation of static modes and the calculation of a spectral response of a structure subjected to an acceleration spectrum (we also test spectrum interpolation).

The results obtained are in good agreement with the reference results (compilation of results obtained by other software packages).
