v2.02.144 SDLL144 — Speed transient of a rotating beam with a disk#

Summary:

This test makes it possible to validate the temporal response to a rotational speed transient of a rotating shaft system. The rotor is solid, has a circular cross section and includes a disk. The laws of acceleration considered here are linear (modeling A) and exponential (modeling B) types.

For this test case, the unbalance type load is installed on the disk. The comparison focuses on the value of the resonance peaks of the disk movements.

This problem also makes it possible to validate the effect of the damping and gyroscopic stiffness matrices that were developed for Timoshenko and Euler straight beams.

The results obtained are in good agreement with those given in reference. The references are based on Timoshenko’s beam theory.
