2. Benchmark solution#

2.1. Calculation method used for the reference solution#

The reference solution is the direct calculation of all of the two structures.

It is assumed that the mass and stiffness of secondary structure \(\mathrm{PA}\) do not interfere with the behavior of the primary structure. Thus the chained calculation is assumed to be equivalent to the direct calculation. It can be verified on the table below that the structure \(\mathrm{PB}\) does not modify the natural frequencies of the structure \(\mathrm{PA}\) very much.

2.2. Benchmark results#

We observe the acceleration spectral density on the node of the \(\mathrm{PB}\) beam with \(2.4m\) abscissa (node \(\mathit{PB25}\)).
