1. Reference problem#

1.1. Geometry#

Excitation is a seismic movement of the imposed acceleration \(\mathit{AX}\) type applied to the support in the \(\mathit{DX}\) direction.

We are interested in the \(m\) mass movement.

1.2. Material properties#

Point mass:

\(m\mathrm{=}100\mathit{kg}\)

Elastic spring:

\(k\mathrm{=}{10}^{6}N\mathrm{/}m\)

Modal damping:

\({\xi }_{0}\mathrm{=}0.05\)

1.3. Boundary conditions and loads#

The problem is one-dimensional in direction \(x\), and with 1 degree of freedom: the movement of mass \(m\).

Excitation is a power spectral density (DSP), with a constant acceleration between \(0.\) and \(100\mathit{Hz}\).

It is applied to the support.
