v1.02.101 SSEP001 - Calculation of the limit load of a tube with underthickness#

Summary

In this test, the limit load of a tube with underthickness is calculated.

The limit load is calculated in two different ways:

  1. Through a static approach that allows the calculation of the load that corresponds to the free plastic flow solution. This approach makes it possible to calculate from the inside a minority of the limit load. All you have to do is raise the value of ETA_PILOTAGE as soon as this value stabilizes.

  2. Through a kinematic approach regulated by the Norton-Hoff-Friaâ method which uses incompressible elements. It is based on linear static resolution and parametric control.

Post-processing with the POST_ELEM command makes it possible to obtain the estimates of the upper and lower limits of the limit load.

This test case is used to check the validity of the command files corresponding to the lower and upper limit load of the two cases of a tube with underthickness. The underthickness is defined based on the measurement points recorded on site.

Modeling A:

  • Calculation of the lower limit load.

Modeling B:

  • Calculation of the upper limit load.

This documentation is deliberately brief.
