2.1. Characteristics of the mesh#

We start with a coarse mesh containing 250 knots.

2.2. Operations carried out#

The RAFF_GP command is used to refine the mesh downstream of the notch. Four stages of refinement are carried out.

The final mesh contains 8504 nodes.

2.3. Size tested and result#

The number of nodes in the final mesh is tested in three areas more or less close to the bottom of the lens. It’s a non-regression test.

The zones are as follows:

zone 1: disk of radius 0.04 centered at (0.58; 0.55), very close to the bottom of the notch

zone 2: disk with radius 0.04 centered at (0.77; 0.66), in the chip zone

zone 3: disk with radius 0.04 centered at (0.22; 0.76), outside the chip zone

The final mesh contains 8504 nodes.
