Summary:

We treat the case of a quarter cylinder (modelled by shells DKQ) subjected to internal pressure on a first mesh \(\mathit{ma1}\). The displacement field obtained \((\mathit{ch1})\) is assumed to be correct. This displacement field is projected onto another \((\mathit{ma2})\) mesh of the same quarter cylinder. We get \(\mathit{ch2}\). We re-project \(\mathit{ch2}\) to \(\mathit{ma1}\), we get \(\mathit{ch1bis}\). The \((\mathit{ch1bis})\) result is close to \(\mathit{ch1}\) (2% difference). This validates the method of projecting a field from one surface onto the other.
