**u3.11.05** Modeling POU_D_T_GD
====================================

**Summary:**

This document describes for modeling POU_D_T_GD:


* the degrees of freedom carried by the finite elements that support modeling,


* the related support meshes,


* the loads supported,


* non-linear possibilities,


* test cases implementing modeling.

Modeling POU_D_T_GD corresponds to a formulation of Timoshenko beam elements taking into account large displacements and large rotations (cf. [:ref:`R5.03.40 <R5.03.40>`]).

It can be used for three-dimensional beam problems in isotropic mechanical analysis and in linear elastic behavior.
