.. _U1.02.00: **u1.02.00** Introduction to code_aster ====================================== **Disclaimer:** This document describes the philosophy and areas of application of code_aster, without developing the available functionalities in detail. This document is a first contact with code_aster and was therefore written with the aim of brevity. It is not intended to list all the models or types of analysis possible with code_aster, and does not replace the presentation brochure which provides a more exhaustive overview. All the information, provided here or in the various manuals, is given to describe, with maximum precision, the content of code_aster. Their step is not to provide training in numerical modeling of the behavior of mechanical structures. code_aster is only the implementation of methods described and demonstrated in various books to which the engineer should refer, in addition to the reference documentation, if necessary. The code_aster manuals also assume that you have acquired training in solid mechanics and the finite element method.
