**r7.04.05** Algorithm for calculating reinforcement densities

**Summary:**

The algorithm for calculating the reinforcement densities of reinforced concrete elements, as implemented in command CALC_FERRAILLAGE [:external:ref:`U4.81.42 <U4.81.42>`], is presented. For this reason, we will first present the algorithm for calculating '1D' linear elements, and then examine that of '2D' surface elements of shell types.

The determination of the reinforcements of a section is carried out, depending on the option chosen (CODIFICATION = 'EC2' or 'BAEL') at Eurocode 2 part 1-1 [:ref:`bib2 <bib2>`] or at BAEL91 -99.
