**r7.01.33** Elasto-plasticity-damage coupling
=====================================================

**Summary:**

This document presents a method for coupling an elasto-plastic model with a damage model, which is implemented as part of KIT_DDI. The method uses an approach of partitioning the model into three modules: elasto-plasticity, damage, and coupler. It is in particular this modularity that represents the main advantage of the method. It makes it possible to use the same "coupler" module for couplings between different elasto-plasticity and damage models without intervening in the implantation of these models. Exactly the same idea is used for mechanical/creep couplings (see [:external:ref:`R7.01.19 <R7.01.19>`]).

For the moment, the implantation allows to couple only the model GLRC_DM for damage with the models VMIS_ (ISOT/CINE) _ LINE for elasto-plasticity and this only for models DKTG.
