.. _R4.10.04: **r4.10.04** Detecting singularities and calculating an element size map ================================================================================== **Summary:** A method is proposed here that aims to improve the treatment of singularities in mesh adaptation strategies with the software HOMARD (in the case of refinement) or with the software GMSH (in the case of remeshing). This mechanism makes it possible, on the one hand, to detect the finite elements connected to singular zones and, on the other hand, to obtain, for a given global error, the size of the finite elements of the new mesh in the case of remeshing. This functionality is accessible in the CALC_ERREUR command by the calculation options SING_ELEM (constant field per element) or SING_ELNO (field at the nodes per element). This option is only valid in mechanics. It is necessary to have previously calculated a mechanical error estimator and the deformation energy on each element. Strictly speaking, this method is only valid in terms of elasticity. **Table of Contents** .. toctree:: :hidden: self .. toctree:: :maxdepth: 2 :numbered: Introduction D_tection_des_singularit_s Construction_d_un_maillage_optimal Utilisation_dans_Code_Aster Bibliographie Description_des_versions_du_document
