2. Principle of using the keyword

The LIAISON_SOLIDE keyword is a repeatable factor keyword. At each occurrence of the keyword, the user defines a « piece of model » that he wishes to rigidify.

From this « piece of model » defined by the keywords GROUP_MA, GROUP_NO,,, MAILLE and NOEUD, we deduce the list of nodes to be rigidified.

Once this list is established, we write the relationships necessary to express that the « rigid piece » only has the degrees of freedom of a solid (in general: three in 2D and six in 3D).

Note:

If all the nodes of a finite element are subject to a condition like LIAISON_SOLIDE, that element does not deform. Its constrained state will then always be zero. If you want to access the stress state of a « rigid » zone, you must use the « hard » material technique.
